Gemma is a senior associate at Morris. Gemma has a BA/LLB(Hons) conjoint degree from the University of Auckland.

Gemma began her career at Morris. Since 2020, Gemma has acted for clients in a wide range of trust, estate and relationship property disputes. Gemma has appeared in the Family Court and High Court. She has attended numerous mediations with senior counsel and has experience assisting in high value relationship property disputes, involving complex trust and company structures.

Gemma is a member of the Family Law Section and Auckland Women Lawyers’ Association.

Gemma has been recognised by Doyle’s Guide as a rising star in 2024 and 2025.

Junior counsel for successful respondents in application to sustain caveat (Lobb v Symons [2024] NZHC 1569).

Junior counsel for successful respondent in High Court appeal against Family Court decision granting respondent day to day care of children (Evans v Evans [2024] NZHC 34), leave to appeal to Court of Appeal subsequently declined (Evans v Evans [2024] NZCA 389).

Junior counsel for successful respondent in High Court appeal against decision of the District Court declining summary judgment for specific performance of agreement to pay child support (Holden v Holden [2022] NZHC 3561).

Acting for husband in high net worth relationship property claims involving applications seeking leave to bring claims out of time, setting aside a relationship property agreement, seeking compensation for economic disparity and claims against trusts.
